I really enjoyed my visit to Hillhouse. It reminded me of my very first visit when it had been in private ownership and I was still at school. It seemed so much bigger then but it still has that magical quality. It’s a wonderful house. I thought then wouldn’t it be great to live here. You know I still feel the same way about Hillhouse. Mackintosh was my hero when I was at school and I had thought’s of becoming an architect. I had been offered places at Glasgow School of Art to study Art and also Architecture. I eventually chose to study Art but Mackintosh’ swork still has a magical quality for me. I guess he always will.

I really enjoyed the trip to The Hill House yesterday. I really like the picture painted by Mackintosh’s wife. I also really liked the hall. The bedroom was painted with creams and pinks which made it look feminine. This was my favourite room, it was all symetrical with thin chairs placed around the room which were only made for show, if you sat on one it would probably break!!

I thought mackintosh’s work was very classy and very inspiring . It still looked modern for being designed a hundred years ago.

I enjoyed the trip and had a great time. I loved the main bedroom and the main room downstairs as it was bright, spacious and light. Even although it was designed about 100 years ago it still felt quite modern, as his work is timeless.

The house was very big. There was hundreds of rooms that had all this stuff in them. In one of them there was a model of the hole place. The garden was cool too.

i enjoyed the trip to The Hill House as it gave us a proper chance to see MacKintoshes work in real life and in its natural state, rather than just in books and pictures. It was also good fun and in would definetly go again. (”,) x.

I like the fact that we got to see the real things to draw from instead of just looking at pictures in the classroom all the time but when we were drawing they had no chairs to sit on and it was a bit hard to balence the clipboard and draw. Over all it was a good trip.

I had a really good time at the Hillhouse! It was great. The rooms were reallly nice, especilly the main room which was full of feminine interior.Also the mmain room downstairs as so beautiful. I would like to go again sometime.

The trip yesterday at Hillhouse was really inspiring, I thougt some of the lights and designs were very nice but overall my favourite part had to be walking around the gardens.

I really enjoyed the trip to hillhouse it was great to see some scottish designs for once! My favourite room was probably the living room, it was very feminine and had pretty the colours in it especially the mother of pearl the was placed in certain bits of the room. I really liked the big piece of artwork that Macintosh’s wife made it was gorgeous. x
