S1 pupils have been working hard on creating the official 2009 Our Lady’s High School Christmas card design. All S1 pupils participated in this design project where they looked at and drew images of Mary and baby Jesus by studying famous paintings of the subject and creating designs of their own.
This year some of the pupils worked in the Library Resource Centre’s ICT suite and used Adobe Photoshop CS3 to enhance their artwork and and have the experience of manipulating their image using computer software.
The winning designs were chosen from an anonymous selection by Headteacher, Mrs Sinclair, and the school’s Senior Management Team. The overall winning design was created by David Martin and four other designs were chosen to make up a pack of five cards which will be on sale shortly for pupils, parents and staff to purchase these beautifully crafted designs.
The four other card pack finalists are Emma Brown, Monica Kane, Casey Reid and Keira Winton. The Art Department would like to thank all the S1 pupils for participating in this project which allows the school to have a unique and cheerful Christmas card.
I’m still looking for help to sell the cards. PLease see me if you would like to help out.
[Editor’s note. If you would like to see the processes involved in creating some of the cards, please have a look on Ms Steinert’s blog. ]
