Social Subjects, Modern Languages, Art and the LRC are pulling together for the first ever Interdisciplinary Learning, or IDL, lessons. The first topic is about the Auld Allliance, signed between France and Scotland in 1295.
The first task was to bring the teams together, so we selected some old Scottish and French songs, chopped them up and handed out the lyrics. Then everyone tried to find the matching lyrics to bring their teams together before making name badges. And of course, since this is all about the Auld Alliance, pupils could choose to be Scottish or French nobility 🙂
The groups have now started work on their team banners, using a guide to heraldry to match symbols to their personalities.
