Report from Miss McGinness
Students spent time in Religious Education classes looking at the Nicene Creed and how it can help us ‘Open our hearts and minds to God’, and made faith pledges, promising to do a variety of extra things related to their own personal faith path. Many pupils have said they will attend mass more, take part in mass, volunteer in their parish, read the Bible daily, and be more kind to one another.
S1 pupils studied the section of the Creed which mentions Pontius Pilate and looked at many images of Jesus with Pilate before he was crucified before drawing their own images.
We also created Nicene Creed wordles in the Library Resource Centre, while others filled out a ‘Charge Sheet’ to see if there was enough ‘evidence’ to convict them as Christians! S4 pupils took part in a Faith Forum where they prepared questions for Fr King and also prepared questions for a trainee priest in Rome.
