Scullion Law Debating Competition 2013-14

Two senior pupils, Hayley Stevenson and Sam Kelly, recently represented Our Lady’s High in the Scullion Law Debating Competition. The Hamilton-based law firm, Scullions, run the competition for all Lanarkshire schools ensuring fierce competition between some of Lanarkshire’s most skilled young debaters.

Our Lady’s proposed the motion, ‘This House supports random drug testing in schools’.  While Hayley and Sam narrowly missed out on a place in the semi-final, both agree that the experience was worthwhile and enjoyable and they are particularly looking forward to taking part in the prestigious Donald Dewar competition later this month.
