Poetry of War

Report from Mrs Millar

Mrs Millar’s poets are showing their skills as they write war-themed poems of all kinds. They have been studying Wilfred Owen to learn about World War I, as well as spending time analysing “The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas” to find out about aspects of World War II.

Two up and coming poetry competitions, one from Young Writers and the other from Poppy Scotland, will be receiving their poetic efforts before the end of October. Many prizes can be won, but our pupils are rightly proud of their poems: prizes in themselves!

You can read a selection on our school blog in the next few weeks.
