Professor Martin Hendry

Professor Martin Hendry, Head of the school of Physics and Astronomy at Glasgow University and Professor of Gravitational Astrophysics and Cosmology came to OLHS last  Friday to discuss elements of the new Higher Physics syllabus, with particular focus on the new cosmology unit.

Topics under discussion included black holes, the expansion of our universe, the existence of other universes and dimensions, the concept of a rubber universe and exoplanets.

The audience included Higher Physics students from schools around the Motherwell area: Brannock, Braidhurst, Taylor, Dalziel, Clyde Valley, St Aidans and of course OLHS. Many thanks to Professor Hendry for taking the time to come along and to Mr Law for organising the event.
