Motherwell Diocese celebrated Catholic Education Week this weekend with many pupils from Our Lady’s High School, from S1- S6, participating in masses by giving the readings and bidding prayers, completing the offertory, handing out leaflets, singing in the choir and even sharing their personal experiences of school life.
The main message for these masses was: Developing as Communities of Faith and Learning. In Our Lady’s High School, we aspire to put Jesus at the centre of all we do; ensure that all leadership is shaped by the Gospel values; and make prayer, worship and celebration central to school life.
We have had state funded Catholic education for almost 100 years now. There is no doubt that the world around us is changing and that we live in challenging and uncertain times. It is in the face of these challenges that Catholic Schools stand as communities of Faith and Learning, and are as important today as they have ever been.
