Christmas Fair 2014

Our wonderful Christmas Fair took place on Saturday 29th November. Pupils in the Personal Development and Enterprise classes were responsible for turning our Zone from a dining room onto a magical festive fair, complete with Santa, bouncy castle and a whole range of fabulous gifts, prizes and good things to eat. Our Lady’s is particularly grateful for donations from families and school supporters.

The event itself ran like clockwork the following day and was busy throughout with staff and pupils grabbing the best bargains in the Zone before settling down for a chat with a cuppa.

Stalls were run by staff, pupils, parents and local businesses and included lucky dip, face painting, nail painting, make-up, raffle, tombola, toy tombola, bouncy castle, Santa’s Grotto, Ready Steady Bake, Christmas Cakes, Gingerbread Houses, Christmas Decorations, sweet stalls, Slush Company, hair accessories, school scarves, and home made cards.

Many thanks to everyone involved including the staff who organised and ran stalls on the day, all of the pupils who set up the Zone, manouvred furniture and sold like hardened sales staff, all of the parents, carers, pupils and friends of Our Lady’s who came along on the day and helped us raise a clear profit of £1020.84.

Pupils involved:

Patrycki Brodaski, Jade Collins, Nicola Dollochin, Courtney Elliot, Ciaran Harvie, Kyla McPherson, Lauri Miller, Agnes Ngolo, Toni Paterson, Scott Paton, Ilona Reynolds, Grant Riddell, Kirpal Singh, Liam Stobie, Barbara Ross, Michael Lewis, Hannah Eadie, Chloe Brown, Rebecca Cairney, Patryck Chentkienlz, Kireel Greer, Cailtin Hoey, Natalie Jadach,

Our Lady’s High 2014 Christmas Fair

Report by Rachael Clinton

Mrs Zambonini has been hard at work organising the school’s 2014 annual Christmas Fair. This year’s event will take place on the 29th of November in the Zone area from 10am to 12pm. It is hoped the Fair will be as prosperous as last year’s and will raise a good amount of money for school funds.

Lots of different departments are getting involved and each are contributing to the fair.

From Mrs Zambonini’s Personal Development Class and XL classes, we have:

  • Santa’s Grotto, where children (and sometimes adults) can come and meet the bearded man himself.
  • A bouncy castle (also not just for the children)
  • Face painting AND nail painting.
  •  Homemade Christmas cards, wind chimes, and seasonal decorations
  •  The EXCLUSIVE new school scarf
  •  From her XL class we also have sweets for sale
  • And of course tea/coffee and a variety of home baked goods will be sold

And if that selection isn’t mouth-watering enough the Home Economics/Hospitality/Cake Craft classes have also made festive gingerbread houses and cakes! (woah, sugar rush) The Modern Studies/Social Subjects department will also have a tombola stall and RE and Learning Support will have a toy stall.

We also have people outside the school visiting for the occasion. We have a mother of one of our first year pupils selling homemade hair scrunchies emblazoned with the school badge, if you want to be really patriotic.  There will also be a company selling brand makeup such as MAC and Christian Dior for discounted prices. We know, we’re so fancy.

And to top off our festive extravaganza we have entertainment provided by the school choir with our very own musical maestro Aaron Hawthorne playing the piano.

So come along and have a look at what’s on offer, have a bite to eat and maybe even a wee sing-song depending on how much coffee you’ve drank. It’s sure to be a good day out for the whole family (as long as you leave the dog at home that is),

Christmas Fair – 30th November

Report from S6 Personal Development Class

Our Lady’s High School are holding a Christmas Fair on the 30th November, 10-12 am in the school Games Hall.

At the fair there will be tombola, Christmas stalls, a tea bar, home baking and a raffle for prizes to be won. Also you will be able to join in our face painting and nail painting, meet our Santa at his secret grotto and enjoy the bouncy castle. There will also be live music and lots of Christmas goods that can be purchased like cards, gifts and make-up.

Donations of bottles, home baking and raffle prizes would be greatly appreciated. We hope to see you there!
