To all S6 pupils: WORLD YOUTH DAY – PANAMA 2019
The next World Youth Day will take place in Panama in January 2019. The diocese is proposing to organise a ‘mission trip’ to central America which will include taking part in the WYD celebrations.
If you would be interested in this and will be over 21 years old in January 2019, then please get in touch with Fr. Martin Delaney.
Association of Lourdes Motherwell Aid (ALMA) is a group of young volunteers who accompany the diocesan pilgrimage giving essential support to the sick, elderly and infirm.
Places are limited, so register interest early by speaking to Father Martin. Young people must be 17 years old (and have finished secondary school) at the time of travel.
There will be a meeting at 7 pm at the Diocesan centre in Motherwell on 19th September.
Our very own Father Martin Delaney has been pounding the streets of Motherwell in training for the sponsored run in aid of the Lourdes Pilgrimage. Anyone wishing to sponsor him can do so through the school or online at:
Fr Martin Delaney will lead advent services over the coming two weeks for individual house groups. Meanwhile S1 RE classes will be trying to raise money over Advent to buy a present for Iraqi child refugees. The presents will be delivered to the camps in Iraq via the Aid to the Church in Need charity.
Other RE classes are being asked to bring in non-perishable goods which will be made into food parcels by our Caritas class and shared across the local area.
